Rolyis a small, invitation-only social game. Members post questions about future events — a friend's race time, an office thermostat, which film someone ends up liking — and take positions on the answers using play-money points issued by the site.
Every account is given a fixed number of points on sign-up. Points are a scorekeeping device, nothing more. They are not currency, credits, tokens, securities, or anything redeemable.
Access to Roly costs $1.00 for a year. That fee buys the right to use the software: to hold an account, post questions, take positions, and comment.
The fee does not buy points, and paying more does not get you more points. Every member — paying, comped, or otherwise — starts with exactly the same balance. You cannot purchase points at any price.
To be completely unambiguous, because it is the most important thing on this page:
If the site shuts down, points simply cease to exist. They represent no claim on anything.
Separately from the game, Roly runs an honesty box for drinks. Someone buys and restocks them by hand, and the price covers that cost. These are ordinary purchases of ordinary objects and have nothing to do with the game.
Buying an item earns you no points, and points cannot buy an item. The two are kept entirely apart on purpose: if points could be exchanged for something real, they would have a cash value, and everything said above would stop being true.
Items are delivered by hand to an office floor, which you choose at checkout. We do not ask for a postal address and nothing is posted. If you paid and haven't received your item within a week, email support@roly.fun and we'll refund you in full — likewise if you change your mind before collecting.
Membership is a single payment covering one year, not a subscription. Nothing renews automatically, nothing is charged again without you asking, and there is nothing to cancel — access simply runs out at the end of the year unless you choose to pay again.
If you are unhappy for any reason, email within 14 days of being charged and we will refund that year in full, no questions asked. Given the price, we would rather refund you than argue.
You must be 18 or over and have been invited. Accounts are personal — do not share them or make more than one.
An administrator settles each question, using the resolution rules written on it. Anyone can propose an answer, but only an administrator confirms one.
Where a question turns out to be ambiguous, unanswerable, or was posted with misleading terms, an administrator may void it. Voiding returns every participant the points they put in. Settlement decisions are final.
Do not abuse other members, post unlawful content, attempt to break or overload the site, or use it to run anything resembling a real-money betting operation. Accounts that do may be suspended or removed without notice or refund.
Roly is a hobby project run for a small group of people. It is provided without warranties of any kind. It may be unavailable, lose data, be changed, or be discontinued at any time.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with Roly is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months.
These terms may change. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use Roly after a change means you accept it.
